* No Detroit player scored more than 15 points while San Antonio's Tim Duncan totaled 25 points and 11 rebounds and Manu Ginobili had 23 points
* The Pistons connected on just 2-of-14 3-point attempts (14 percent) while the Spurs hit 7-of-11 (64 percent)
* The Spurs outscored the Pistons 24-17 in the fourth quarter after NBA Finals MVP Duncan overcame a stretch of 8 straight misses in the third; Duncan scored 17 of his 25 points in the second half

* Horry comes up huge yet again: Robert Horry scored 21 of the last 35 points for the Spurs, including the game-winning 3-pointer with 5.9 seconds left in OT
* San Antonio's Tim Duncan scored a team-high 26 points and grabbed a game-high 19 rebounds but missed 6-of-7 free throws in the fourth quarter along with the potential game-winning shot at the end of regulation. "(It was) an absolute nightmare," Duncan said.
* Chauncey Billups scored a game-high 34 points on 11-of-26 shooting for the Pistons and missed three straight shots in OT

* The Pistons became the first team to score at least 90 points against the Spurs in 14 NBA Finals games
* Rip, Pistons back on track: Rip Hamilton connected on 11-of-23 shots for 24 points after making just 12-of-36 for 28 points in the first two games combined. Five Detroit players scored in double figures.
* Manu the Mortal: After averaging 26.5 points through the first two games, San Antonio's Manu Ginobili scored just 7 points on 2-of-6 shooting and had 6 turnovers in 29 minutes
* Big Ben strikes 11: Detroit's Ben Wallace came alive with 15 points, 11 rebounds (6 offensively) and 5 blocks (all in the first quarter). He had failed to register double-digit rebounds in his previous five games and six of seven after totaling at least 10 in 20 straight. The Pistons out-rebounded the Spurs for the second game in a row, 44-37, including 17-10 on the offensive glass.

* Detroit's starting backcourt of Rip Hamilton and Chauncey Billups totaled 27 points combined between them on 11-of-29 shooting
* Manu Ginobili led the Spurs again with a game-high 27 points and 7 assists while Tim Duncan added 18 points and 11 rebounds
* San Antonio connected on 11-of-24 3-point attempts while the Pistons missed on all 6 of their tries from beyond the arc
* The Spurs also had a dominant advantage from the free-throw line, making 28-of-34 compared to 10-of-16 for Detroit

* Manu Ginobili scored 15 of his game-high 26 points in the fourth quarter on perfect 6-of-6 shooting from the field to help the Spurs turn a close game into a rout

* Pistons won their 12th straight home game and beat the Spurs for just the third time in 13 meetings after San Antonio leading scorer and rebounder Tim Duncan injured his ankle two minutes after the opening tip

* Tim Duncan bounced back from one of his worst games of the playoffs with one of his best, totaling 31 points and 15 rebounds for the Spurs while Manu Ginobili had 19 points and Tony Parkedr added 18
* Amare Stoudemire scored 17 of his game-high 42 points in the fourth quarter to lead the Suns and also grabbed 16 rebounds but didn't get much help. Joe Johnson had his worst game of the series with 14 points on 6-of-17 shooting and Quentin Richardson was scoreless in 28 minutes of action.
5/30/2005 (Game #4) – SAN ANTONIO 106, Phoenix 111
(ATS winner: Phoenix +5.5 | OVER 212)
* Amare Stoudemire came up with a huge block on a dunk attempt by San Antonio's Tim Duncan with 36 seconds left to punctuate an outstanding finish to his Game 4 performance. Stoudemire scored 11 of his 31 points in the fourth quarter and also had two layups, two rebounds and a steal in the final 1:28 to lead the Suns to victory. "Unbelievable,'' Phoenix point guard Steve Nash said. "Even as a teammate, you were just in awe. He was all over the place. He made spectacular plays.''
* Phoenix guard Joe Johnson made 10 of his 15 shots en route to 26 points in his second game back from an eye injury
* Manu Ginobili led the Spurs with 28 points while Duncan struggled mightily from the free-throw line, one game after making a franchise playoff record 15 straight; he hit just 3-of-12 free throws after making 33-of-36 in the previous three games and ended up with 15 points
5/28/2005 (Game #3) – SAN ANTONIO 102, Phoenix 92
(ATS winner: San Antonio -4 | UNDER 214.5)
* Tim Duncan led the Spurs with 33 points and 15 rebounds, going a perfect 15-for-15 from the free-throw line
* Joe Johnson returned to the starting lineup for the Suns and scored 15 points while Amare Stoudemire had a game-high 34 points and 11 rebounds

* Four Spurs scored at least 20 points, led by Tim Duncan's 28 ( 11 of which came in the fourth quarter) and Brent Barry's 21 off the bench (13 in the fourth)
* Phoenix All-Stars Steve Nash and Amare Stoudemire combined for 70 points, 13 rebounds and 14 assists but teammate and fellow All-Star Shawn Marion scored just 3 points on 1-of-6 shooting

* Wade plays, but only well in stretches: Miami leading scorer Dwyane Wade had his moments but failed to score over the final 15 minutes, ending up with 20 points on 7of-20 shooting.
* O'Neal big, teammates small: Heat center Shaquille O'Neal had his best game of the series with 27 points on 12-of-17 shooting and 9 rebounds but the rest of the Miami starters made just 15-of-40 shots.
* Rip and Rasheed lead Detroit: Rip Hamilton led the Pistons in scoring for the sixth straight game with 22 points and Rasheed Wallace scored 20 despite being limited by foul trouble. Chauncey Billups added 18 points and hit several key free throws in the final minutes to clinch the victory, finishing 6-of-7 from the charity stripe.
6/4/2005 (Game #6) – DETROIT 91, Miami 66

* No Wade, no chance: Miami leading scorer Dwyane Wade missed the game due to a rib injury and his team struggled to its lowest postseason point total ever.
* Pistons had extreme advantages in fast-break points (19-7), second-chance points (18-7) and points off turnovers (25-2) and used runs of 13-0 and 10-0 in the second quarter to build a 44-32 halftime lead
* Shaquille O'Neal led the Heat with 24 points but also had 6 of the team's 19 turnovers and none of the team's other regular starters scored in double figures

6/2/2005 (Game #5) – MIAMI 88, Detroit 76

* Heat get balanced effort: Five Miami players scored in double figures led by Shaquille O'Neal's 20 points; leading scorer Dwyane Wade sat out the final 10 minutes with a strained rib muscle and scored 15 points in 27 minutes. "It's very, very painful,'' Miami coach Stan Van Gundy said. "It feels like
he's being stabbed when he breathes. We'll just have to wait and see.'' "I couldn't move in either direction, I could only go straight,'' Wade said.
"Hopefully, me being young, I can recoup real quick and be ready for Game 6.''
* Rip Hamilton once again led the Pistons with 21 points but made just 7-of-18 shots as the team shot 39 percent compared to 52 percent for the Heat; Rasheed Wallace scored only two points but guaranteed a Detroit home victory in Game 6. 5/31/2005 (Game #4) – DETROIT 106, Miami 96
(ATS winner: Detroit -5 | OVER 179.5)
* First-half success carries Detroit: Rip Hamilton scored 19 of his team-high 28 points in the first half for the Pistons, who did not turn the ball over in the first half and had their highest first-half scoring total of the playoffs (60 points)
* Brown's future doesn't bother Pistons: Detroit head coach Larry Brown reportedly met with Cleveland about becoming the team's president of basketball operations but his current team didn't let his future affect them and played an inspired game. "We've got bigger things - we're worried about the Miami Heat, not what the coach is doing or whatever,'' Detroit point guard Chauncey Billups said. "We don't care about that now, we're trying to win the series, trying to defend our championship, not worry about what's going on after the season.''
* Shaq not a factor: After a strong Game 3 performance, Miami center Shaquille O'Neal was limited to 25 minutes due to foul trouble and finished with just 12 points and 5 rebounds while Dwyane Wade once again led the team with 28 points.
5/29/2005 (Game #3) – DETROIT 104, Miami 113
(ATS winner: Miami +5 | OVER 177.5)
* Miami shot 52 percent from the field and made 38-of-54 free throws compared to 28-of-43 for the Pistons, who hit just 65 percent of their shots from the charity stripe for the second game in a row
* Detroit's Rasheed Wallace and Chauncey Billups both lost their cool in the fourth quarter, as each picked up technical fouls for arguing with the officials. Billups eventually fouled out after scoring 18 points on 6-of-19 shooting.
* Dwyane Wade and Shaquille O'Neal led the way for the Heat by combining for 60 points and making 20-of-30 free throws while Rip Hamilton scored a team-high 33 points for the Pistons
